XCI Zoning, which provides advanced HVAC technology from its sole manufacturing and distribution hub in Lubbock, Texas, faced escalating material costs and inflation across the board. Due to these rising costs, their leadership team began a comprehensive business review to determine potential opportunities for optimization and cost savings.

One opportunity for XCI Zoning was transportation to serve their customers including HVAC repair companies, suppliers, and builders. XCI Zoning had a time consuming process going to multiple carriers sites and using brokers to support their less-than- truckload (LTL) volume. There were also other manual processes like PRO number application and document creation.

Solution

To streamline its operations, XCI Zoning partnered with FreightWise, a leading TMS and transportation management provider. FreightWise conducted a full review of XCI Zoning’s carriers and transportation operations. FreightWise provided LTL carrier recommendations and worked directly with LTL carriers to secure rates for XCI Zoning.
